ECEDHA Response to the White House Executive Order

The Electrical and Computer Engineering Department Heads Association (ECEDHA) expresses grave concern over the Executive Order on Immigration signed on January 27, 2017.

The technological and scientific advances that fuel the progress of our country are based on the free flow of people and ideas.  Scientists and engineers choosing to study and/or spend their careers in this country have been a major component of that progress.  The US has benefited greatly from this highly-educated population; shutting off that valve will only hurt our country and our progress.  The young stars will now go elsewhere for their studies, depriving the US of a significant source of talent.

ECEDHA urges the leadership of the US to vacate this order as soon as possible.
