Jean-Francois Boland
École de technologie supérieure (ÉTS)

Jean-Francois Boland (Jean-Francois.Boland@etsmtl.cais the head of Electrical Engineering at École de technologie supérieure (ÉTS) University in Montréal. His research interests include electronic system-level (ESL) modeling, functional verification and integrated modular avionic (IMA) architecture design. Dr. Boland received his PhD in electrical engineering from McGill University in Montreal in 2007 and obtain his B.Eng. and M.Sc.A. degree in electrical engineering at the École de technologie supérieure (ETS) university. He is an associate member of the LACIME and LASSENA research laboratories. Dr. Boland is a member of the executive committee of AeroÉTS and Chair of the Canadian Heads of Electrical and Computer Engineering association (CHECE). He is recognized as an outstanding faculty member and received two excellence awards from ÉTS’ board of Directors in teaching and community services.



Jean-François Boland est directeur et professeur agrégé à l’École de technologie supérieure (ÉTS) au département de génie électrique. Son champ d’intérêt de recherche inclut la modélisation de systèmes électroniques à plusieurs niveaux d’abstraction, la vérification fonctionnelle par simulation et la conception d’architectures IMA pour les systèmes avioniques. M. Boland a obtenu son diplôme de doctorat à l’Université McGill en 2007 et il a complété sa maîtrise et son baccalauréat à l’ÉTS en 2001 et 1998 respectivement. Il est membre-associé du laboratoire de communication et d’intégration de la microélectronique le LACIME et du laboratoire de technologies spatiales, systèmes embarqués, navigation et avionique le LASSENA de l’ÉTS. M. Boland est membre du comité exécutif de AéroÉTS et président de l’association Canadienne des directeurs de département de génie électrique et informatique (DGÉIC). Il est lauréat de deux prix d’excellence du conseil d’administration de l’ÉTS : enseignement (2011), services à la communauté (2013).
