2018 Workshops

The ECEDHA Annual Conference offers special, dedicated workshops focusing on specific topics of interest to ECEDHA members.  All workshops take place on Friday, March 16th.

ABET Workshop

ECEDHA is pleased to present a separate workshop prior to the ECEDHA Annual Conference and ECExpo specifically designed to assist universities in preparing for their upcoming ABET reviews. Participants are expected to bring the materials they have prepared thus far for discussion and evaluation.

"Seasoned" Chairs Workshop On Leadership

This workshop will explore the critical role of the leader and the importance of effective leadership as an expression of good management practice. Each participant will receive a personalized report that explores his/her own unique behavioral approach in the work place and the linkage between behavioral style and leadership style.  ​

New Chairs Workshop

All new chairs are encouraged to attend this complimentary workshop.  This informal session is intended to highlight the position of department head (chair) and its relationship to upper administration, faculty, staff, and students.

iREDEFINE Workshop (for Students)

Application Only.

Winners are encouraged to attend this complimentary workshop. This informal session is intended to create a mechanism to motivate and prepare graduate women and underrepresented minorities students to pursue faculty positions in US Universities. The unique opportunity arises due to the high concentration of ECE department chairs attending the event, most of whom are investing great efforts in increasing the diversity of their faculty.

IEEE-HKN Workshop (for Graduate Students)

A complementary pilot HKN-ECEDHA Graduate Student program to prepare the HKN graduate student members for the path to pursue a career as a working engineer in Industry.  In partnership with ECEDHA, this program can bring together students and professionals to discuss the path forward, provide insight, advice, and practical information to inform their decisions on this choice. As a pilot program, the goal is to have a maximum of 25 students from the region and Host Universities participate and evaluate both the success and interest in the program from the perspective of the attendees, Universities and Industry.
